Message Scripture:

“Be still, and know that I am God…”  Psalm 46:10 (KJV)

Introduction:

Good Afternoon Everyone!  It’s one of those days where I haven’t really done much of anything but watch my little girl.  Yet, I find myself sitting at my computer, and I have a message in my heart.  So, I am going to get out of the Holy Ghost’s way, and see what He’s wanting to speak.

Be Still:

Be Still.  Talk about something being easier said then done, and in the midst of yet another stock market crisis come the fear-mongers speaking about how the end of the world is coming.  Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock it’s quite clear that we’re living in the final days before the trumpet sounds…but why I sense in my heart is a strange bit of peace that can only come from one place…and these words give me the confirmation I need.

“Be still, and know that I am God…”

These days there are so many predicting doom and gloom, but I’m not so sure this is the beginning of the end that everyone is predicting.  Listen, we all know that things certainly look like there’s no hope, but I don’t believe that’s the case.  I believe there is hope.  I believe there is something that’s coming that is going to change the course of the world…but I don’t believe what’s coming is the same as what everyone else does.

I really don’t have a lot to say, and this is probably one of the shortest messages I’ve penned in a while…but I read this today hearing the voice behind the Words.  In other words, in the midst of all the noise and confusion and everything else that’s going on right now today…I just read this today…and as I read it and as I’m writing this now I can’t help but hear God speaking these words to calm His people.

I feel like I’m writing this because God is saying to all of us right now today in the midst of all that’s going on:

“Be still, and know that I am God…”

Let’s Pray:

Heavenly Father, we come to You today with trouble minds and hearts as we look around at the world today seeing all the strife and turmoil and chaos, and here You are speaking to us to be still and know that You are God.  What a God that knows that so many of our hearts are troubled, and rather than allow us to remain…once again You speak to calm the storms in our hearts, and whether You are saying to us to “Be still” or “Fear not”…the message is the same…You are still God.  So, help us, Father God, to not get distracted as we walk upon the waters of our lives, and help us to keep our eyes fixed upon You.  Lord, You are worthy of all our praise, and we know that no matter what is happening around us You are in control and there isn’t one thing happening that You aren’t aware of…and may You help us all find that peace that surpasses all  understanding…and may You comfort and ease the troubled hearts and minds.  In Jesus’ name. Amen

Final Word From Pastor B:

How many of you know it’s always best to let God speak!?!  I feel like we as the Body of Christ are Peter as he’s walking on the water on his way out to Jesus.  I feel like everything that’s happening today is coming from satan…to distract us from the goal…which is to keep walking until we get to Jesus.  Remember Jesus’ scolding of Peter was because he lacked faith not because he got distracted, and I feel like this word from God is a quick reminder to us to stop looking around…get our eyes back on Jesus…and keep walking.  There will be many believers who will not only get distracted, but they will lose their faith and drown in the waters of life…because they lost their faith and their focus.

Be Still.  Stay focused. Keep Walking. Fear Not Only Believe!

Blessings & Grace;
Pastor B
