Good Evening Everyone,
I realize it’s been quite a while since I posted something from Pastor B’s Blog, and so I wanted to take a moment to remind y’all that Pastor B’s Blog is still indeed online. It’s not nearly as popular as Christlike Ministries NWA, but I’m still believing that God is going to grow this blog just like He did my other one.
So, tonight, as you can see by the photo I want to talk to you about something I once heard said which is also the title of this message. That quote kind of goes along with Matthew 7:13-14 KJV. I can’t remember where I heard it or who said it, but what I can remember is that it was one of those simply illustrations that made me feel dumb about how simple the Bible really is to understand some times.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” – Matthew 7:13-14KJV
Oh yeah, I suppose I should give you that quote…
“The road to Heaven is only as wide as Jesus’ shoulders.” – Anonymous
Now, I wish I could tell you that I was the wise man that came up with that statement, but I unfortunately cannot tell you that because it wasn’t me. What I can tell you, however, is that it reinforced for me what Jesus said in John 10:7 (KJV) which is that HE was the Door, and it also reinforced what Jesus said in one of my absolute favorite verses in the entire Bible John 14:6 (KJV).
You see, it’s important for guys like me to have scripture in the Bible that is not open to private interpretation or have any “gray” areas. I like John 14:6 because of it’s straight-forward point that no one is going to Heaven via any other means then through Jesus Christ. Which brings me back to the point of the narrow gate, and the revelation that came from the quote that the road to Heaven being only as wide as Jesus’ shoulders.
There are so many people who think they’re on the path that will lead them to eternal life in Heaven, but they’re trying to get there without being single file with Jesus. There’s only one true way to have the blessed assurance that we will be with Jesus one day in Heaven, and that’s to be a blood bought, Holy Ghost filled, born-again whosever that’s called upong the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved.
That is how narrow the road is, and why they say the only way to Heaven is only as wide as Jesus’ shoulders!
Have a blessed day in the Lord!
Blessings & Grace ~ Pastor B
